A study of the authorship, dating, literary structures, and other background issues relating to the books the New Testament. Attention will also be given to problem areas and matters of higher criticism such as Synoptic Problem.

The major theological and doctrinal themes of the New Testament are examined in light of their immediate historical and cultural contexts. A survey of the history, methodology, and presuppositions of the discipline is included.

An exegetical study of 1 Corinthians, this course explores the historical and cultural background of the correspondence. Special attention will also be given to theological and ethical issues and their applications to the contemporary Church.

An exegetical study of selected portions of the text. Special attention is given to following the Pauline argument, themes, and issues related to soteriology.

A study of the life, ministry, and teachings of Jesus as recorded in the gospels in their historical context, including an examination of contemporary critical issues.  Emphasis will be on the historical and religious background of his life, major events, and themes of his teachings.
